The 62nd Maidenhead AC  Easter Ten Mile Road Race on Good Friday April 3rd was started promptly at 09:30AM jointly by the Mayor of RBWM, Richard Kellaway, and John Jenkins OBE, President of Sportsable. 933 participants crossed the Start line in cool and wind-free conditions which were perfect for fast running.

Over 110 running clubs had runners participating in this year’s Maidenhead AC Easter Ten from as far north as Arbroath in Scotland to the south coast with runners participating from Southampton.  There were over 380 women runners and 550 men participating in this year’s race with age being no barrier as there were 12 runners participating in the 70+ age category.

One of the running clubs that has supported the Maidenhead AC Easter Ten for many years, Serpentine RC, participated with strength in depth this year and was successful in winning the overall race and the team prize for men.  The overall race winner was Andy Greenleaf in a time of 51:10, closely followed by his Serpentine RC fellow runners Nicholas Torry (51:27) and Richard Phillips (51:36).

The first lady was Amy Clements of Kent AC in a time of 57:12 and second place went to Laura MacGregor of Maidenhead AC in a time of 59:25. The Ladies team prize was won by Reading Roadrunners.

The Maidenhead AC team comprised runners who are participating in their respective age groups for the Berkshire road running championships and all performed excellent times to assist with their efforts to win Berkshire medals in 2015.

All proceeds from the race will be split between the race’s nominated charity, Thames Valley Adventure Playground (www.tvap.co.uk) for special needs children and adults, and to support the development of athletics coaching and equipment for the Maidenhead AC thriving junior section with over 100 children from 7-17 participating in a variety of athletics disciplines.

We have attached four results files from this year’s Maidenhead AC Easter Ten:

Everyone at Maidenhead AC would like to thank you all for your continued support of the Easter ten and your very positive comments on the quality and enthusiasm of our volunteer course marshals and our juniors on the finish line. Your running enjoyment and encouragement to run a good time are what is important to us.

And if you would like an early date for your 2016 running calendar the 63rd Maidenhead AC Easter Ten Mile road race will be held on Good Friday March 25th 2016.  We look forward to seeing many of you on the start line once again.
